This entry is part 7 of 7 in the series Biblical Scrolls

Speaking concerning the days leading up to the redemption of his saints and helping us prepare against the things we will face and suffer until that day. Jesus shared what the days leading up to the day for which we should lift our heads will be like.

Jesus first explained the world will undergo a process of deception, where its leaders will lead the world into a time of darkness. Holding the seat of power, they will employ policies through public servants who will report on lies to deceive the world.

“They will come in my name saying they are Christ,” said Jesus, meaning they will come in the authority of a king, and through the tools of fear lead many into a state of rebellion against God.

Jesus then told us, there will be wars and commotions. He told us not to be terrified because these things must first take place before his appearance. Nations shall rise against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms.

There will be a struggle for power and kingship, and during this time there will follow natural disasters, earthquakes in every place, followed by famine because of failing crops.

Disasters upon the Nations

Pestilences and many other fearful sights will appear, even in the heavens above, there will be signs. But before these things, Jesus warns and prepares us, the kings of the earth will lay their hands on us, they will persecute the saints.

They will bring us before the courts, and in their synagogues, they will judge us falsely. They will cast us into prisons, and we will be brought before kings and rulers for his name’s sake. But promise, it will account to our lives as a testimony.

But it will get worse, Jesus also warns, Luke 21:16-18 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But not a hair on your head shall perish.”

This calls for endurance because although these things took place shortly after the death of Jesus when Rome came and destroyed Jerusalem, those who heard the words of Jesus had escaped this destruction because they prepared for the day.

It is a reflection on what will take place and what we will face as we come to the final showdown against the Antichrist. Daniel told us there will be a battle between the saints and the antichrist.

The turn of the battle

The antichrist at first will have the upper hand in the battle, but as things seem to be going the way of the world, suddenly Jesus will appear and the battle with turn in favour of the saints who will destroy the Antichrist taking the kingdom out of his hands.

Daniel 7:21-22 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Highest, and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

Jesus told us, “Lift your heads because your redemption draws near, that is because as we are facing the wrath of the antichrist, and as God unleashes destruction upon the world through world events. At the very moments leading up to the day of redemption for which we are to lift our heads. Jesus will appear and together we will fight alongside Christ. Waiting for the Redemption

The Final act of Redemption

Revelation 19:17-20 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.” Bible Gateway
