This entry is part 6 of 6 in the series The Rapture

We know the day of the Lord is at hand, because as believers, we have read the scriptures to know the promise of God to return, and upon his return, he will move to establish his kingdom on earth something David had revealed when he wrote Psalm 24:1. “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. And when we read Isaiah, there is no doubt the kingdom of God and heaven which are the same in thought will be on earth. Because what Jesus is about to do upon his return is establish his kingdom, and as we have revealed, he will promote those of us who had endured until the end.

At his first appearance, Jesus came to broker a covenant with his people, and the agreement of that covenant was for him to provide for our atonement because of our sins. This atonement contract was described as one choosing a bride and, in that description, we see the bridegroom approaching his bride, and together they enter a covenant that the bridegroom would prepare a place for his bride, but he would leave to return, and when he does, he will receive his bride unto himself. This was explained well by Isaiah when he spoke of Christ becoming a sacrifice at his first appearance, and then upon his return receive his bride unto himself. And sitting over the kingdoms of the world upon his return, Jesus will establish a kingdom, and when he does, his bride will sit in power with him.

First the covenant will be established between the bride and the bridegroom, Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” And following the fulfilment of all things will come the return, and the establishment of the kingdom and the place prepared for his bride.

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” And reading these two verses, what we are seeing is the power of Christ and his bride who will reign with Christ upon his return. For as it is written, God through Jesus will establish his kingdom with judgment and with justice, and this judgment we heard of is the wrath of God and the saints taking part in the judging of the world.

There will be a rapture, but as we have said, it will not be a rapture that takes the church out of the earth and away from the earth, and if we were to read what Jesus requested of his father, we will see it was not to take us away and out of the earth, but that we might be persevered in the earth as we await his return. Jesus prayed, John 17:14-16 “I have given them thy word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” Because as David has reported, “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”

So, what is the rapture about, is it about God taking us out of the world, or is it about the church, the tabernacle, or temple of God, or body of Christ being promoted to a place of power upon the return of Jesus Christ? According to scripture, and the work ahead of us, the former is the truth. Jesus did not make a request of God for us to be taken out of the world because the world belongs to Christ, and as a preview of what is to come in the kingdom of God, Jesus told us, he has given us power over the nations and have set us above the governments of this world.

Now, to confirm these things, and calling his disciples unto himself, Jesus first reminded us, and his disciples in Matthew 28:18 “All power is given unto me, said Jesus, in heaven and in the earth.” Jesus is Lord overall, he is the King of kings, and all the kings of the earth shall serve him. And having that established in their minds, and in the mind of his bride and church, Jesus then said unto us. Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

Because to be set as one who teaches, is to be promoted to a place of power and authority, and having been sent to teach the nations, this is a preview as it is our responsibility to reign and rule with Christ, and of what the reward of Christ will be upon his return. And although the world is rejecting our authority, upon the return of Jesus Christ, our glory, and power with Christ will be revealed when we are raptured to his right hand which is a representation of power.

Revelation 3:21-22 “To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” Because when we think of the rapture, we are not to believe somehow, we will be spared from the tabulation, instead, we will give God glory going through the tribulation, and being provided for during the outpouring of God’s wrath, and enduring persecution and death because we believe, we will with our lives glorify God and, in the kingdom to come receive our reward.

Matthew 19:28-30 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.”

Will there be a rapture, yes, there will be a rapture, but will the Church be taken away from the earth? This is the question, and the answer is no. Because instead of being  removed from the earth, it has been revealed, we will be going through the tribulation to show the world who God is, and that God is able to save those who trust in his authority. And by going through the tribulation, our lives will be refined, and those who are not, but say they are for Christ will be revealed, and those who are for Christ will stand. Therefore, it was importantly written and announced for us to know we will need endurance, and if we are aware of these things; we will seek to know the will of God and do them.

Jesus warns, Matthew 24:4-9, “Take heed that no man deceives you. For many shall come in my authority, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers’ places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Then speaking concerning our state during those days, Jesus said, Matthew 24:9-13, “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
