Self Condemnation {6}

This entry is part 7 of 10 in the series Psalm one

Knowing what was coming, the blessed man took action to prepare for the season of judgment. It was clear to him; God was sending a flood to judge the world. It was also clear to him the whole world was condemned to death because of what his ancestors had done.

Accepting he deserves this punishment, he quickly upon hearing the message of God took action to save his life. God was judging the world with equity; the judgment of God was just and true. And being a part of humanity, he realizes we were all under condemnation, but even so, God was being gracious to all equally.

No one was good or just before God, and because of this revelation found in the law of God. The blessed man upon receiving the law of God acted. He made preparation according to God’s word, and by doing these things, left himself from under the condemnation.

Because the blessed man believed God, and the king, he did what was instructed. But the ungodly man, because he did not believe the word of the king, and was yet standing in rebellion against the king, took no action to save or lift himself from under the condemnation.

The king sent his son to proclaim the judgment, and to save those who would believe. The king said through his son, “For God so loved the world, he sent his only begotten son into the world, so that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

It was through their faith in the king’s son were they going to escape the judgment and penalty of God resting on the world. And it was for a lack of faith in the king’s son, they would remain under the condemnation of death.

The king’s son had made this known in the law. He said, “He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” And reading that it is and was by faith we would survive the judgment through preparation, the blessed man acted.

However, because he did not believe in the king’s son, the ungodly man did nothing to save his life. And so, condemned himself to death because he did nothing to escape what was revealed to him.
