As we are about to review Psalm two in complement to Psalm one, it is important we understand from the book of Psalm one we are to be practical when it comes to the law of God. It is also important to note, the law of God in Psalm one is not dealing with the moral law but is rather to be translated as God’s instruction.
Viewing the law in Psalm one as God’s instruction, it should be clear, the blessed man saw it as such. And understanding it was the instruction of God discovered it was God’s blueprint to the world on how to escape a coming judgment.
In Psalm two, we will look at the underlining theme of the bible, and what the blessed man saw was happening, and why he needed to act. Reading the bible, we know Jesus came to save the world from sin, the main focus in many churches. But what we also equally need to remember is why Jesus came and died for us.
Jesus came and died for us because we are sinners, a rebellious people living under the curse of God, and what is that curse? The curse of death. But how will we face this curse, or how will God execute the penalty of the curse? That is where this series on Psalm one is going. We will in Psalm two explain what we have done and why it was and is important for the blessed man to act quickly based upon what he discovered in the law of God. It is for us to prepare according to Psalm one for the season so that we might escape the penalty of God, although Christ died for us securing us a place in His eternal kingdom.
