Psalm One Revealed

This entry is part 10 of 10 in the series Psalm one

Blessed is the man that walked not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

Note: He is blessed because upon realizing he was in danger, the blessed man ignored the counsel of the ungodly, which was to ignore the counsel of God. And because he believed the word of God. Acted upon the law to save his life. Therefore, he was and is a blessed man.

However, it was not because he was a good man, or because he was beforehand a righteous man. For by nature, he is under the curse of the first Adam. But because he believed God and acted on the warning and instruction of God. He is a blessed man.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditates day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Note: The blessed man took delight in the law of God because of what it contained. It contained the instruction on how to escape God’s revealed judgment. And because he took delight in the law of God, he was able to prepare in time for the season he knows was to come.

Preparing in advance provided him the time needed to gather what was needed based on his discovery. Therefore, when the time came for judgment, he was fully prepared.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Note: Because he failed to believe God and didn’t take the time or the opportunity provided for him to prepare for the coming season, the day of judgment revealed. The ungodly was not able to endure the judgment.

Therefore, when the wind blew and beat upon his house, and because he did not read the blueprint on how to build his house in preparation for the judgment. His house fell upon him, and he perished because of the greatness of the fall of his house.

For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Note: Unlike the ungodly, the righteous man had read the blueprint, and because he read the blueprint, the Lord sent the judgment according to the blueprint, and his plan; and so, watches over the way of the righteous. So, that he was able to endure the season of wrath sent against the world.
