After his death and resurrection, Jesus gave his disciples this authority, Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
Jesus as King gave his disciples authority and a job to proclaim and establish his kingdom on the earth. He sent them out into all the world, and as they go, they had established centers of administration in Asia, and Jerusalem.
And about these things. John was shown Christ standing in the midst of the seven spirits of God, the seven leaders over the seven churches established by the apostles, and Jesus receiving from the right hand of his Father the power to judge and rule over the nations.
Revelation 5:6, “And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”
Jesus among the elders, the defeated nations the four beasts, Jesus who has power over and rule of his seven churches the seven horns, and the seven eyes, and seven spirits leaders of his churches were presented as worthy and God’s appointed King.
Jesus was the only one worthy to walk up to the throne of God and take from the right hand of power the book and authority to judge the earth. It was revealed to the churches and John God has appointed Jesus as King over all the earth and has given him the right to judge the nations.
This then called to mind what Jesus said to his disciples before sending them out into the nations. Matthew 28:18 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and the earth.” And beholding the vision of God these were the things John saw. Christ is honored as King over all the earth to judge and rule over all the nations.
Revelation 5:8-14 “And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.
And they sang a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell and worshipped him that liveth forever and ever.”
Every knee bowed to the Lamb of God, and every tongue confessed Jesus as King, from ever nations, all of the creation glorified Christ because God in the presence of his saints, the empires that have risen upon the earth, and the elders of his court had made Jesus Lord and King.
Daniel 2:36-45 “This is the dream, and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdued all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
And whereas thou saw the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawt the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
And whereas thou saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings, shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
Forasmuch as thou saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
