The reward of Christ is for his people to sit and reign with him in his kingdom, and as John continues to share what he saw, writing to the seven churches he revealed the end and the establishment of Christ’s kingdom, and the appointments of the saints of the kingdom of God.
And speaking of Christ sitting on the throne as the most precious treasure in the midst of his people, John shared the testimony of Christ, that it was the saints who will overcome the Antichrist, and that throughout the generations, they have defeated the four beasts, and that out of every generation on earth, God has for himself preserved his people.
And looking back at the words of God through the prophets, John testifies to the promise of God to all his people throughout every generation on earth. Psalms 145:3-4 “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.”
God has always been in the midst of his people, and therefore, being shown the end of all things that are to be shortly, John wrote what he saw. Revelation 4:4-6 “And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats, I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.”
The saints of the Highest were given a place of honor in the kingdom of Christ, the elders that led the saints of God to victory were given thrones that they may sit and rule in the kingdom of Jesus Christ with justice and judgment according to the prophecy of Isaiah.
It is written, Christ will establish His government on earth with justice and judgment, Isaiah 9:7 “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.” And God is determined to accomplish this mission, “The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”
Therefore, the saints that were shown before Christ, were presented as the saints who had faithfully followed the angels of the seven churches, and the elders who served the Lord during the time of the four beasts. And because of their faithfulness in their generations, they were given white robes that signify they are judges with Christ in his kingdom.
“And out of the throne proceeded flashes of lightning and thundering and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And before the throne, there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.”
Judgment was given to the saints to execute God’s vengeance against the nations. “And out of the throne proceeded lightning and thundering and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.”
The lighting and thundering, God’s judgment were executed upon the nations, and as the saints of God were given this place of honor, they brought before the Lord the defeated nations who worshiped the King of kings, the Lord of Lord’s, and so fulfilled the scripture, Romans 14:11, “As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
Daniel also saw these things and wrote, Daniel 7:21-22 “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Highest, and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”
The kings of the earth had set themselves against the Lord, and against his anointed king, and the people of his kingdom. Their plan was to destroy and wipe out the nation and the people of God. But as it was shown to Daniel, and later to John, the saints of the Highest upon the appearance of Jesus Christ were given the authority to execute God’s vengeance against the nations.
Revelation 1:16, “He had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.” With the cloud of his saints, the seven spirits before his throne who are the seven leaders of the seven churches, the seven stars in his right hand, the seven spirits and angels of the seven churches, the seven lamps of fire burning before the throne of God, and the seven candlesticks which are the seven churches over whom the seven stars, spirits, angels, and burning lampstands rule in honor of Christ. God put down the rebellion of the nations.
Therefore, the four beasts, which are the four empires revealed to Daniel that were to have risen upon the earth in defiance against God were brought before the throne of God, and before the people of God the sea of glass like unto crystal; those who have been cleansed by the blood of Christ to be presented as crystals before God, pure and worthy, and the twenty-four elders who led the battle against the nations who were given thrones and crowns of gold to rule over the nations. The four beasts bowed their heads in defeat giving glory unto the Lamb of God.
Revelation 4:8 “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him, and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” All the nations and people that served the four beasts were brought before the throne of God, the six wings with eyes, the people of the nations over which the beasts ruled in their generations were brought before God and were judged, and they give glory to God the King of kings.
