As we now turn to the book of Revelation, the scribe of John the apostle wrote by the direction of John these words and prophecy, Revelation 13:1 “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” And the interesting word in the whole statement is the word and or phrase “blasphemy, or ‘the name of blasphemy'” because it is pointing to the reality of rebellion, and Ezekiel’s prophecy that speaks of God’s dislike for Gog and the nations joining hand in the battle against God.
This should then lead us to ask the question “What is the blasphemy of the nations, and why is God angry with the nations?” And reviewing Ezekiel’s prophecy and comparing it with John’s, it is clear, the head of the nations with whom the nations are an ally through his challenge is making himself a god. He through his challenge and declaration of war against the saints of God has blasphemed God and has made himself a king over the world.
But God is asking the nations “Why are they in an uproar and are planning such a vain thing?” Psalms 2:1 “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” Because they should have realized God had placed a curse upon the empire of the beast and seed of the woman and promised he will destroy the rebellion of the king of perdition.
Nevertheless, the kings of the earth are determined to go through with their plans, but God had also prepared a day of battle, the day on which he will destroy the armies of the Antichrist the horn and power of the beast rising from the sea, and those in league with him will also fall on the field of battle.
The people and the nations who gave him his power and his seat to make war against the Prince of God Jesus Christ will suffer the vengeance of God through the hand of the saints when God gives the command to his saints to rise up and take the kingdom away from the Antichrist.
Psalms 110:4-5 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.” And because these days are coming, God through his servant John wrote to the seven churches that they are to prepare themselves for the coming season.
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”
The beast, Antichrist, and the nations of the world will join hands in the battle against the Lord and his saints and with their horns, the might of their armies make war against the saints of God, but God will appear in the midst of his saints to fight and destroy the power of his armies and the nations in league with the Antichrist.
In agreement with John and Ezekiel, Daniel wrote at the hand of his scribe, Daniel 7:21 “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them” But this is not prevailing to victory over the saints of the Highest. Daniel is only explaining that the saints will be at a disadvantage because of the grace of God to save the world if the world will listen to his warning.
However, because they will not relent nor listen to the words of his saints, God will give the command to his saints to take the kingdom away from the Antichrist, beast, and the son of perdition the seed of the serpent. Therefore, Daniel wrote through his scribe that the prevailing of the Antichrist was only short-lived. Because his prevailing was only until the Ancient of days appeared.
Daniel 7:21-22 “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Highest, and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”
And when the saints shall take the kingdom away from the Antichrist and prevailed against him that is when God receives glory through his saints and the saints will give him a kingdom and dominion over which he will rule forever. Because through the victory of the saints and their dominion over the nations every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is the Prince of all the earth.
