This entry is part 1 of 2 in the series Land of Magog

If we were to ever wonder where or what country shall give power to the Antichrist the man of perdition. We will do well to look to the land of the Hittite, renamed Constantinople today Turkey with its Capital Istanbul and the countries surrounding its border. Because in Genesis ten, the sons of Noah have left us a record of the nations and told us from the beginning who the family of the Antichrist is, and from what region he will rise to power.

In Genies ten, we have a list of the names and clans of the nations and the region they occupy in history and in our current modern age. And when you read Ezekiel thirty-eight, we will find these names are once again found to be the hostile nations that have now become one country under one leader.

The scribe of Ezekiel wrote, Ezekiel 38:2-3Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, ‘Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:’” And looking back at the nations and what they wrote concerning Gog, we can see that the tribe of Gog had become a mighty nation on earth and has been a problem for some time.

This is the account of Shem, Ham, and Japheth, Noah’s sons, who themselves had sons after the flood. The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshek, and Tiras. And in this list of children belonging to Japheth, we can point out the sons who have become a nation against whom God is angry found within the prophecy of Ezekiel 38.

The names we have are Gog who is from the land of Magog who is said to be the chief prince of Meshech. We also have listed for us Meshech over whom Gog rules, and Tubal who is in agreement and is an ally and supporter of Gog.

According to Ezekiel, they have been campaigning against God’s will for some time, and God is about to call into question their rebellion. And so that he might deal with the land of Magog, God will on a political platform cause Gog to turn his head toward the land of Israel that he might be glorified through the defeat of Gog and the nations in league with him.

The Lord said, Ezekiel 38:4 “And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:”

However, this turning of Gog the prince of Meshech will be brought about by a political event, a noise from the south that will cause Gog to lust after the prosperity of God’s people. And when he had come to this thought, Gog will act upon it, and at that moment, the Lord will set in motion the events that will bring an end to his rule and empire.

But what other nations will join hand in this plan of Gog to destroy and rebel against the will, kingdom, and kingship of Jesus Christ. Genesis 10 also lists the names of other sons who have also become nations on earth who will join hands with Gog to fight against the saints of the Highest.

Listed among the nations in rebellion against the kingdom of Jesus Christ, Jesus who is said to sit on the throne of David in the latter days are the sons of Japhet, Ezekiel 38:6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.”

And what is God saying to the nation of Gomer and his bands? Ezekiel 38:7 by the hand of the scribe God wrote, “Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that is assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.” And these are not the only nations joining in the battle against Jesus our King. The other nations listed are: “Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:” Ezekiel 38:5.

Genesis 10:3-5 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided into their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
